Metal Sonic is Sonic's copy made by Dr Eggman/Robotnik for him to have an equal power and speed to have a chance of beating him but he didn't there's lot's of version's of Metal Sonic from cd to hero's, and right now i won't but not for ever, anyway DID YOU KNOW: when sonic 2 came out  Metal Sonic was downgrade from a big blue copy of sonic to a robot in the shape of sonic. Metal Sonic only appeared in the classic universe 2 times while in the modern universe he's been seen 8 time's (mainline games only) then for the classic universe he's seen more which is 6 time's also thanks' to Sonic Wiki Zone for the amount of game's now for the voice actor's sorry that this page is probly going to be the shortest but here we go Ryan Drummond and in Japan Junichi Kanemaru i like Metal Sonic he's eggman's best creation.
